First book in the Terrafold Trilogy and debut novel for Crispo. Rabbit Heart was a fun read that took on some interesting adventures. Taking place in the Pacific Northwest, this book features both human and fae type characters as well as their respective habitats. I really liked that rather than having seperate realms, the fae type characters exist in this human world but keep separation of their lands. Mycel/Michelle being of the forest folk, leaves her lands and responsibilities to live amoung the humans. While she attempts to hide her magic, she still maintains care for the earth and plants as well as keeping her familiar near her. When she meets and falls for Earwyn, she can't help but feel the similarities in their nature.
This book does contain some explicit adult content. I felt that this aligned well with the story and the connection between Mycel and Earwyn. Without the spice the story would still contain a solid plot and storyline. For a debut novel, Cristo does a good job of world building and character development, including the wild thoughts and mannerisms individual to each character.
I look forward to continuing this series and can only see Cristo continue to hone her write skills and story building as she grows her writing.
