Otter in Space
by Sam Garton
Review originally posted at The Children's Book and Media Review
Otter goes to the museum—the best place ever!—and gets to see a lot of fun things about space. She even gets to see a moon rock that came all the way from the moon. Otter Keeper doesn’t let Otter buy everything she needs from the gift shop, so she decides that she should get a moon rock from the same place the museum did: the moon! Otter and Teddy build their space suits, do some training, and build a spaceship. They find the best moon rock they can before going back to earth to play with it.
Although the book is about an otter, children and parents will recognize that they make believe in the same way that Otter does. Otter’s unique voice and personality conveyed through both the text and illustrations create humor and excitement for the reader. This book will delight fans of the first book, I am Otter, as well as create new friends for Otter and Teddy.
