this book almost put me in a reading slump :( the first couple chapters started off strong but then the story just got very slow. it was also very hard for me to follow all the world building and different bloodlines being introduced. I only felt motivated to read because I felt guilty for not finishing this series when i’m almost already halfway through it. there’s also sooo much smut in this book.

as someone who gets severely seasick, it’s completely wild to me that smut is used to distract a character from being seasick.

favorite quote: The heart doesn't care how long you may have with someone. It just cares that you have the person for as long as you can.
