Amelia Anne Is Dead and Gone
by Kat Rosenfield
A few years ago I picked up this book and only made it to page 20 before I sat it down and forgot about it. A year or so later I came back to it, not making it much further than page 20 before I set it down again. It collected some dust before I finally picked it back up a week ago. The first few days of reading it I began to feel like I wasn’t going to finish it, but I encouraged myself to get past page 85. I’m so glad I did.
The book itself is beautifully written with a lot of emphasis on the descriptions of the setting.
I will say this, it is slow in the beginning. About a third of the way through it picks up the momentum and remains somewhat steady through to the end. I thought I had pegged ‘whodunnit’ but I was only half-right.
