Heartbeats & Highways is the eighth and final book in the Tarnished Angels MC series that tells the love story of Cooper "Savage" Boddington a member of an MC that has been wild & savage until he meets Evie during one of his illegal fighting ring match that she was waitressing. Evie is trying to start over after the death of her husband. Savage is battling through his own dark past as he fights his opponents in the illegal fighting ring until one night he sets his gaze on Evie from across the room. The moment that Savage looked at Evie after his fight with him giving her a nod and her running I knew that this was just the beginning for them both falling in love. It was love at first sight for Savage while it took a bit of time for Evie to fall in love since she had come out of very abusive relationship though it didn't take long. Savage took his time to break down those walls that Evie put up against men by showing her that even though he was brutal in the ring he was gentle when it came to taking care of her.
It was a shock to me when Savage told Evie his real name is Cooper but this is another moment that showed that he was falling in love with her so he was giving her his trust. When both Evie and Savage found out that she was having twin babies was an emotional and shocking moment that only brought them both closer to each other. The moment that Evie was kidnapped was such an intense and scary moment as it wasn't clear if she would ever get away from her father-in- law. It was a moment of great relief when Savage was able to come to Evie's rescue even though she was half-way to saving herself but with his help was able to make sure she made it. Emma Slate delivered the perfect ending to the Tarnished Angels MC series and the story that we were all waiting for with Savage finding his perfectly matched Old Lady in Evie. I can't believe that this is the end of this amazing series though I'm very much looking forward to the Saddles & Spurs series.
