At risk of sounding like a sheep, my opinion about a book is generally in line with the majority. Not so on this one. Intended as a YA, it featured protagonists who think they are 12, and it shows in their thought processes and speaking. I have long since learned, too, that life is too short to finish books where you can't stand even the main character. Her constant over-narration (telling not showing) and emphatic driving home pieces of information that, yes we got already, thank you, is enough to make me stop not even 100 pages in. Not to mention her attitude towards an incident with Yong, which apparently the author does not want me to spoil, where she gets angry at everyone else for not helping, or for causing it (by allowing themselves to be knocked out and not protecting her, a perfect stranger) when it is quite clearly largely her own doing.

It's just...boring. And grating. Definitely not for me.
