Midnight Sun by Stephenie Meyer

2.0

55 percent was all I could do. Oh. My. God. At first the book was actually fine, it was nice reading events from Edwards POV....at least at the beginning. After 55 percent I started feeling tired. Edward was constantly repeating himself and ALL THE TIME pining for Bella, even though she was soooo clearly in love with him the WHOLE time as we all know from Twilight. This is even more than blindness - clear stupidity he could not and would not see with his own eyes/mind reading/overall vampirism super-powers. Also, when I was reading Twilight when I was maybe 15 I could see how romantic it could be when Edward was watching Bella sleep from time to time. In this book? So incredibly creepy. He was in her room every night from the beginning - even when Bella got up in the night to use bathroom or when Charlie looked inside if Bella was asleep and he was literally hiding in the corner "in da shadows". Jesus, creepy much, Ed?
His feelings got pretty boring after some reading, apart from his very, very unhealthy obsession he was so contradictory without having reasons for it. When he believed Bella does not like him the way he desires her, he was depressed from it. When he realized she is in fact in love with him, he was one moment over the moon by it and the next super angry and depressed again because how can she love a MoNstER such as himself. Ugh, give me a break.
Also Bella was so different from Edwards POV! She was basically a different person, she never got across as interesting in Twilight, I always thought of her as awkward and eh. In Midnight Sun she was suddenly this super selfless person, smart and funny and overall more interesting person with better character.
The things that I enjoyed the most were probably Edwards memories of how Carlisle was teaching him to walk outside without him murdering the whole city in a few seconds. That was really nice and history about Carlisle and/or early Edward I would enjoy much more than this story.
Done now.
