Death in Her Hands by Ottessa Moshfegh

dark mysterious fast-paced

3.75

What I like most about this book is actually what frustrates me the most about it, that which belittles me. I know it is not real and yet it is, and certain plot points feel quite obvious — placed specifically to throw the reader off the mark. It is maybe not Knives Out brilliant in its twists objectively, but I actually find its quiet, horrid charm to be the point. Moshfegh has a tendency to say ugly, ugly things in her works, and this book is no different.
