false advertising. the book isnt about dogs. its about a football player kid who gets punished for his overly honest book report on how all books about dogs, the dog dies in the end. he ends up in detention, re-directing a play about a story where the dog dies in the end. only dog in the book is a stuffed animal. pbbbft.
