I love how Kasie West writes her books. They're fun, light contemporaries, but they also talk about real issues and problems.
And, most of all, they have HEALTHY relationships. Too often, I'm reading books where the characters are in an unhealthy relationship, and it's never dealt with. And often it's brushed off because "he's only rude because he has a tragic past". But Kasie West doesn't do that, and I absolutely love this about her books.

This one also deals with anxiety, and as someone who struggles with social anxiety, I could often feel the weight of what the character was feeling. I was also brought to tears by the author's note when she addressed mental illness.
"I know there are days where you feel like you've conquered a beast and days where you feel it has conquered you."
