voodooheart 's review for:
Are You Afraid of the Dark?
by Sidney Sheldon
This was a blessedly fast read. However, it was lacking in SO MANY MANY things. It was obvious that this novel (and I use that word loosely!) was written by the man that brought us the 80's schlockfest 'Hart to Hart'. The story was paced like a bad tv show. Very little description, little or no background and you really didn't know what was happening until 2/3 of the way through the story. To get directly to the point - this was CRAP. I picked it up out of a box of books I had received because I had heard so much about the author over the years: multiple awards and millions of books sold, etc. But then to experience this garbage. OMG!! I'm not an English major or literary snob, but damn I at least expected some decent writing; there was none of that here. Unless you really really get excited about Murder She Wrote reruns, please don't waste your time.
