This is simple adaptation of the [b:Beautiful Creatures|6304335|Beautiful Creatures (Caster Chronicles, #1)|Kami Garcia|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1327873282s/6304335.jpg|6488966] book to manga. I read it for a book club and was hoping the story might play out better streamlined in a graphic novel format, but the exact opposite was true. The narrative itself was quite stilted and a bit all over the place. It was not always clear which character was presenting information or the context to the information.
The artwork was another area where I had high hopes, but was left disappointed. The drawings were very lackluster. The beauty of manga is typically how facial expressions convey so much, taking the place of words. However, the facial expressions here don't express a whole lot of anything.
I will give kudos for the cover art. But, it is not enough to save the book.
