setting aside the fact that this took me what felt like eons to get through... I'm not even the biggest skk fan out there (I do find their dynamic to be very fascinating, but there are definitely bsd duos I prefer), nor am I particularly fond of dazai (again, I find him fascinating, but there are numerous characters I'm much more drawn to), but I had so much fun with this one! studio bones omitted so many key moments in its adaptation of the light novel, and whatever it left in was adapted pretty poorly (for instance, chūya's ability was much better explained in the light novel than the anime), which should not come as such a surprise to me at this point, but oh well. regardless, as was the case with the untold origins of the detective agency (the first of the bsd light novels I read), these little details really elevated the story for me in terms of my understanding, appreciation and overall enjoyment of the narrative itself. also, that ending????? HELLO?????
