not my favorite in the series, to be honest (that honor, of course, goes to hattie/the wicked and the wallflower) but groveling isn't my favorite romance trope either. overall, maclean has given a solid redemption arc to a character who i was not initially interested in redeeming, so that's pretty impressive. grace, of course, is a goddamn delight as the heroine, and the series tied up quite nicely
