Kim Jiyoung, Born 1982 by Cho Nam-joo

Short but solid sucker punch of a story. Despite being contextualized in South Korea, it manages to encapsulate the challenges of being a woman, no matter where you are in the world. The book wasn't lying when it said "Jiyoung is every woman." I thought the footnotes throughout the book were a bit unusual, so I chalked it up to an author who's more used to academic writing, but I got to the end, and I thought it was genius.
