So so close to being a 5 star, I’m gutted that it’s not 😭.

I found the first 30% and the last 30% to be so fast paced and full with amazing scenes! The middle…….not so much. It was mostly them going to each others houses (not unusual at the start or the end) and talking about the same things (unusual at the start and end), and it quickly became repetitive.

Darcy is the epitome of an introvert. Very relatable. I’m not entirely sure what his love language was though, quality time?

I really adored Elizabeth’s relationship with her father, it was so sweet and heartwarming. She definitely got his humour.

I really appreciated the girlhood aspect of this book, particularly in the bond Elizabeth has with her sister, especially Jane. They really valued each other’s opinion and everything came out of love and care.

I loved when Elizabeth stood up for herself. It didn’t matter who it was or what the consequences would’ve been, she always remained defiant and secure within herself. A moment regarding this which I particularly loved was when Darcy proposed to her (the first time👀) after insulting her and her family and she outright declined, despite feeling differently. She stood on business! It was also kind of hilarious.

Wholly, it was a hell of a lot funnier than I expected. Mr Bennett with Mrs Bennett always got me.

The language was very accessible, which was a relief because I don’t read many classics and it was something I was wary about.

The prose was beautiful, so lyrical. The amount of annotations I have…..😅.

I was really just obsessed with Lizzy and Darcy. Anytime they were together, I was smiling and giddy.

I viewed this, like many people, as the classic of all classics, and I completely get why. It’s timeless. I already want to pick it back up and see what I didn’t pick up on the first time. I will definitely be returning in the future!
