Marion Lane and the Midnight Murder
by T.A. Willberg
I struggled with whether to give this one or two stars, but ultimately, I just did not like Marion Lane and the Midnight Murder which is a shame because I had such high hopes for it.
There's just too much going on. Too many made-up gadgets that are implausible, too many characters who aren't fleshed out well, too many twists and turns that don't make sense or are never explained.
The main character, Marion Lane, is also very unlikeable and despite all the characters being adults they act like children. None of them seem to have an ounce of intelligence between them either despite being detectives or detectives in training.
Took me three days to get through this and can't say I recommend.
