Zoe's Tale by John Scalzi
4.0

Zoe’s tale recount the story from the Last Colony from the point of view of Zoe, Major Perry adopted daughter. Has other reviewers also mentioned, this book has a strong YA vibe to it.

Overall, it is interesting to get the story of what happened on the colony of Roanoke and gives closure to that story of the Last Colony. As always, Scalzi prose is interesting and easy to follow. Due to the subject matter, we are served with teenage angst and questioning, but it is warranted by POV character.

It is commendable that the character of Zoe was not written in an overpowered fashion or with special insight. It is her circumstances that project her into the political arena and a good part of the book deals with her coming to term with this.

Overall, a book that could be seen has YA, but a good addition to the Old Man’s War serie.
