Tomboy: A Graphic Memoir
by Liz Prince
A graphic memoir. Because I am always looking for great books for 7th graders, I began by keeping notes on words/topics that I think parents of my 7th graders wouldn’t approve of. (I found 50+ words or ideas about sexuality.) I know that’s not what this book is about, though. It's about gender expectations. Liz Prince wanted to draw “open and honest” comics. She hit the mark, and young girls wondering about how they look or how they’re seen may enjoy this open and honest memoir.
