The Jury Master
by Robert Dugoni
First line: "They shuffled into he courtroom like twelve of San Fransisco's homeless, shoulders hunched and heads bowed as if searching the sidewalk for spare change."
I honestly loved this novel throughout. It was incredibly compelling to me the background you get of the main character and how little he really knew about his childhood... I really enjoyed the way the author tied all the bits and pieces of information together to provide a bigger picture, it was really well done.
To me I felt that there was kind of two stories that tied into one. The first was the trials that David Sloane was dealing with and how this was affecting his personal life. Often the situations that were occurring had me on the edge of my seat reading as quickly as possible to find out that everything was going to be ok....something I really enjoy in a novel! The second was flashbacks of his childhood that he had repressed, which tied into the first quite nicely.
All in all, a fantastic novel and I will without a doubt be continuing on to another of Dugoni's novels quite shortly!
