Black Boy Smile: A Memoir in Moments by D. Watkins

3.0

I met the Author, D. Watkins, in Maryland at Mahogany Books and received a signed copy. He was there with Jason Reynolds for a discussion. At first, I felt like it was starting a little slow, but then I started reading the part about him finding himself as a reader and a writer. One of the most significant points I will take from this memoir is that we genuinely don’t stay the same person. We are forever changing. Our thoughts and opinions will even change.
