Beautiful, lyrical essay gems befitting the talented, Maggie Smith. Every devastating passage of the end of a marriage, the author never intended to end,  is deeply experienced through poignant prose on this unwanted journey. Which also is the reason, I gave this “not a memoir,” a 3.5 as opposed to the 5 it truly deserves if only scoring writing excellence. However, I found that after awhile, it became exhausting to walk with Maggie through every step of the marriage’s end. The shorter, yet powerful self standing essays were more satisfying for me.
