Gun Machine by Warren Ellis

4.0

Closer to a 3.5

Just a simple enjoyable book from Warren Ellis. Very different than Crooked Little Vain, and a bit more in line with his detective comic books.

John Tallow goes through a rough day as a NYC Detective and then gets stuck with the toughest case possible. He stumbles into a room with about 200 guns each connected to an unsolved murder. The supporting cast really makes this book good. The CSUs and even the main antagonists make the book worth reading if you just want a fun detective book.

Either I got used to the way he writes, or later chapters were edited differently, but early only he wrote in a very English phrase and way of talking. It threw me off at first being a NYC based book but sounding very English, but after 30 or so pages I didn't notice it anymore.
