People We Meet on Vacation by Emily Henry
3.0
Actual rating: 2.75/5 stars
This was really just okay, but it feels even more disappointing because of how much I loved Emily Henry's first romance, Beach Read. I really ended up muddling my way through it just to finish it.
The main thing this did really well was the characters. I really enjoyed Poppy and Alex and I thought they had great chemistry. But, honestly, that was the only thing this had going for it. The characters shined, but not much else did.
I didn't like the plot progression or the set-up with the interspersing flashback chapters. I thought the reveal of "what happened in Croatia?" was really anti-climactic and not worth the caginess surrounding it and the build-up it had.
In the end, this just wasn't it. I'm really sad about it, but it's true.
