My Man Godric
by R. Cooper
hopeful
tense
fast-paced
This is quite atmospheric fantasy; mid-war, POV of the king's bastard son who is in love with the hero knight and who is also thought to be flighty and possibly not sane. There is heroism and skirts and a cat and some requiting, and while there's quite the skip in time between the last chapter and the epilogue, I still enjoyed it, because Godric's a fantastic character, and Bertie is dear, especially to Godric.
