lighthearted slow-paced

I couldn’t get invested in this book. It started out a little slow and disjoined, especially having started with the one-night stand and then jumping to Jules and Kitty, and then the elements of Kitty’s past.

I think that if the book wanted to explore Kitty’s past with some magic realism, it could’ve either stuck with the “reality” aspect OR the diary entries. Having both took away from Jules’ story.

But as a former Toronto girl, I loved seeing places I used to frequent.

Thank you, Netgalley and Penguin Random House | Dial Press Trade Paperback, for the ARC!
