The Indian Bride
by Karin Fossum
The book was intriguing overall but the ending was not quite satisfactory, as the author left the identity of the killer rather ambiguous. A 50-year-old Norwegian man goes to India (completely out of character) to find a wife - successfully. He returns with the understanding that she will follow in a few weeks. While he is expecting his wife to arrive, his sister gets in a major car accident resulting in a coma. His wife Poona does arrive in Norway but ends up brutally murdered before they can meet again. It's a sweet, although tragic, story at the end, because although the two did not know each other long, they both were committed to the other.
