Darkstalker by Tui T. Sutherland

First of all, I love Clearsight, second of all I don't like Darkstalker, at all really, yes he has cause for me to be sympathetic but honestly I am not the sort of person who can excuse all the bad things he's done just because of his past/the fact that he was so powerful he had to become evil. The moment I knew I could never really like his character was when he was in his egg and thinking about his sister and how she can't hatch at the same time as him because of future stuff and mainly because he wanted Foeslayers love all for himself, then right after that when he immediately decided to hate Arctic destroying any possible relationship with him. I read this after Winter Turning so I knew how this was going to play out I just wasn't quite ready for how emotionally invested I would be with some of the characters. I really loved Fathom and Indigo almost immediately, I may be a little biased as the Seawings are my favourite tribe along with Nightwings (I'm a scholar at heart). I used to be a huge fan (low-key still am) of Icewings but then I read Winter Turning and decided that no matter how much I like the cold and a spiky dragon boi I can't get on board with their society. Back to Darkstalker, after reading this a lot of Darkstalkers commentary in Moon Rising makes a lot more sense and I got to see a little bit more about how his scroll of god powers works. Whiteout is a character I will forever love and if anyone dare hurts her bad things will happen, I loved how her Icewing and Nightwing genetics mixed and I really enjoy the fanart of her. All in all I really enjoyed this book.
