This is not for the faint-hearted. In here the stories are more than cautionary, the flesh-and-blood monsters more than mere tales. It’ll lure you in with the ballet and romance, curb your appetite, and ultimately make you squirm for a reason you can’t quite put to words. Something’s off, something Not Quite Right is happening within the pages. With gaslighting woven with magic, the line between the two becomes very, very thin. Juniper & Thorn is at a Gaiman-esque level of fantasy horror. I’m instantly disturbed at my own obsession.
