Remote Control by Andy McNab

Book Rating 6/10

Enjoyable read. Nick is a great protagonist and I really loved his relationship with Kelly. The action was good. But felt there was way too much waiting around for something to happen. About 25% of the book was hanging out in a hotel room, getting clothes, money, equipment, or getting food. I felt some of this stuff could have been cut and it wouldn't have affected the overall plot. While I like Kelly and you do get invested in her safety. I wish she was a little older than 7 so she could have done more. Think she took some really bad news really well which I found a little unrealistic. I won't go into it due to spoilers. I found the plot twist coming a mile off. Also, felt the ending was a little lacklustre and unsatisfying. I enjoyed it enough that I will be picking up book 2. But I hope the series improves in certain areas.
