I enjoyed the second half of this book much more than the first half.
The beginning of this one felt like it was on fast forward, two characters who “hated” each other for a decade became friends in what felt like one chapter.
Until I hit the halfway point the story really felt like it was written only because the fans asked for it. HOWEVER, once we got past a particular scene*cough* Hank in the hospital *cough* the plot picked up in a more purposeful way, making the character development and love story much more believable.
I will say though, if you’ve read the Chestnut Spring series, this one reads real close to Heartless.
