In the Hand of the Goddess
by Tamora Pierce
A fun continuation of the series, but not as strong as book 1. I do think this one maybe suffers under a current reading because what it does has been done so often in this genre. Maybe Pierce was the first to do it, but reading this book now & not in 1984, I’ve read a lot of these plot points before. In fact, the Ordeal at the end of the book is *very* similar to the fear simulation in Divergent.
Overall, it was good, not great, but I am really looking forward to seeing how the series continues!
