 "Protecting the nerd" is book four in the series but you can read it as a standalone. 

We follow York who is a research engineer and when his life is threatened because of his new invention the FBI decides that he needs a bodyguard to protect him. Him and Quillon, his bodyguard, move back to his hometown for safety and Quillon poses as his boyfriend. 

Words are not enough to describe how much I love York. He was always my favorite side character and I was highly anticipating his story.  It was so worth the wait! 

I wanted to jump in the book and hug York and comfort him and tell him how amazing he is. Luckily Quillon was there to do all these things. I love love loved them together!  This is the most realistic bodyguard book I've ever read.  And the sweetest most heartwarming slow burn romance. The connection between them was chef's kiss. I'm melting thinking all the wonderful moments they shared. York deserved a happily ever after and Quillon was his perfect match and a wonderful person.

I also really loved that they didn't jump into a relationship even though they were attracted to each other and had a deep feelings. They took into account the situation and the dangers and as a reader I really appreciated it.  

York's journey was hard ( please read the trigger warnings before starting the book) but he got his happy ending with Quillon and it was beautiful.

Amazing book, I loved every word!  Definitely my favorite in the series and a new favorite of the year.
