The Reject and the Rebound: Leighton Series Book 3 by Hannah Heyward, Hannah Heyward

4.0

This is a sweet story about healing and finding love again where you least expect it.

Alex and Owen meet again several years after high school, at a time when they are both going through a difficult situation, and they support each other. But soon the sparks fly and although the feelings arise quickly, the physical relationship goes slower.

Overall, it's a sweet and romantic story between two men who must learn to trust again, and I liked it a lot, although there were a couple of details that I didn't like, and that's why I didn't give it 5 stars.

(Spoilers)

- Richard's disappearance, I would have liked it to have closure.
-How Alex handled the situation with Kenzie. Seriously, can he be so clueless? I don't believe it. And in any case, I understand that it is possible, but what I didn't like is why he feels obliged to give her so many explanations. They never had a date, he forgets that she hit on him , in fact in the next two months he completely forgets about her until he sees her again, and she hit on him him again while he was with Owen on a "date", and he doesn't reject her completely? And then on top of that when he sees her again for the third time, again after days and days of not even giving her a, does thought, he feel that he has to explain to her for not wanting to go out with her? And she, seriously, the guy you're interested in doesn't even talk to you for two months, then he ignores you again, and she seriously doesn't realize that he's not interested in her? And I could go on...
-I also didn't like that people kept things from Owen about Richard, details that in my opinion were quite important...
-Oh and Wayne never gets punished for what he did?

Anyway... what I said, it's a nice story, which made me want to read the previous books, but I think it could have been much better.

I was given an advanced copy and voluntarily wrote a review.
