The Ashes and the Star-Cursed King by Carissa Broadbent
3.0
IIIIIII did like it. I did.
I was just slightly disappointed. There were moments in it that were just as fun and engaging as the first, but it just felt… long. The pacing wasn’t as exciting and I didn’t feel as connected to the characters (especially any side characters). The conflict between Oraya and Raihn should have lasted a lot longer and was ruined by hearing so much from his perspective. Like, the ending of the first was SHOCKING and good bc it made you angry and confused along with Oraya, but hearing pretty much straight away his thoughts and feelings didn’t really make it very ~enemies to lovers~ for me.
Still good and still devoured it non-stop (perhaps this was my own fault).
