Reading this after reading Rocannon's World was a letdown for me. I think that this one was much less interesting. Though, I think I should cut Leguin some slack since this was one of her early works and someone who is just starting can't be expected to do everything right. I still enjoyed it, but I wouldn't say its required reading by any stretch of the imagination.
