The Phantom of the Opera by Gaston Leroux
4.0

Just a few thoughts I had while reading this book:

-Christine is sort of the worst and Raoul deserves better...
-This book is like...incredibly sexy. But that may also be my feelings from the movie and musical that are leaking over into it? Nah, I think they're all just really sexy.
-Erik?
-I keep singing the songs in my head...pay attention to the words, Jaymie!!
-I can't get past how much the name Erik really takes away from the mysterious atmosphere. I mean, come on. Erik. Not something a little bit more exciting?
-This was way more thrilling than I anticipated. I thought maybe the movie and the musical took some artistic license and threw in some flair to add to it all. But no, the book is just as exciting.
-I enjoyed this way more than I expected, and that is always one of my favorite things to say at the end of a book. I love to be pleasantly surprised.
