The Frugal Wizard’s Handbook for Surviving Medieval England was such a fun time!
Was this book some kind of literary masterpiece? No, but it didn’t need to be. This book got the tone right, the balance of near-future sci-fi and fantasy elements right, and the characters right. Sometimes hilarious and other times emotionally charged, this book was a fun time and that’s all I needed it to be.
On top of being a fun time, I also really enjoyed getting to know our MC as he re-learned who he was, who he is, and who he wants to be. I also loved the bits of the handbook we got throughout, and appreciated having a separate narrator for the handbook so it was easy to tell apart from the main plot.
Can’t wait to look at the art! 4 stars
