This short anthology of various stories focus mainly on Korra, Asami, and Tenzin and his family. Some stories take place during their childhoods, others after the events of the show. But through it all, there's this collected sense of growth for all of these characters. Young Korra and Asami stories give some background knowledge of things that impacted their lives and trajectories. I also appreciated the present-time stories which shows a more mature Korra, unlike her familiar attitude in Turf Wars.

If you like the Avatar-verse and want to read more stories set in this world, this is the perfect quick read.
