I haven't read any other reviews for this book so I don't know if it is an unpopular opinion or not but, dang am I rooting for Adelina's downfall. She is the most irritating main character for me right now. She keeps toggling between "pick me girl" and paranoid schizophrenic (I get that it's due to the darkness inside her and her powers literally eating her from the inside out, but I'm so over her internal dialogue and then her lashing out and then instantly trying to tell people that she "didn't mean it" - most toxic relationship with a character I have been in as of late). I wanted so much more for Enzo in this. I almost wish he wasn't even included in the storyline since he was barely used and the "insta love relationship" he had with Adelina wasn't even built on. I hope that the last book has more of him in it and less of Adelina (I know this will not be the case, but one can only hope).

Other than my strong annoyance and distaste for our FMC, I thought that the action and build up/climax of the book was done very, very well. It kept me on my toes and I started speed reading in order to find out what was going to happen next. It lasted a good while too. The pacing was perfect in this story. I'm interested to see where we go in the finale.
