The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn by Mark Twain

4.0

I reread Huckleberry Finn after reading James. First and foremost, it was utterly shocking to hear the n-word dropped as much as a person with a cold drops dirty tissues. More generally, the portrayal of Black people was tired. Honestly, I'm not super interested in reading/rereading classics for that very reason. That said, there were parts that were hilarious and I am glad I read it alongside James. Made me appreciate James even more.
