French Women Don't Get Facelifts: The Secret of Aging with Style & Attitude
by Mireille Guiliano
First of Guiliano's books that I've read and I have no idea what made me pick it up. Interesting read though. All about aging, from 40 on, with style, grace, dignity and as much health and well-being as you can. She has alot of common sense advice through the first several chapters about clothing, hair, grooming, make-up, exercise, etc. Some were enlightening others 'duh! but useful nonetheless. The last few chapters stretched further into her philosophy and that of the French and thus weren't as interesting for me. Some advice that I'm taking to heart though. I did particularly like the focus on aging not being bad. She spends a decent amount of time bemoaning the focus of society (especially Western. e.g. American) on the beauty of the young. That's not true in the slightest and Guiliano clearly calls us on i.
Well and engagingly written. I wouldn't be averse to reading some of her other books too now.
