This novel does a phenomenal job showing that marriage takes *work* and compromise. I appreciated how real so much of this content was.
I did have a hard time with the FMC’s name constantly switching from Jeanine to Jeannie. I didn’t understand why that was necessary.
I also struggled because Jeannie/Jeanine is a little unlikable sometimes, likewhen she says the move is the worst thing that’s ever happened to them, meanwhile they literally lost a pregnancy.

I also wish we got some closure to what happened between MMC and his father after the end of the novel. MMC was worried about losing the relationship with his father, but we never found out if he did or not.
