Sunburn is an exploration of both belonging and growing up, and neurosis and toxic love. At times I resonated with the characters’ woes and worries, at other times I was repulsed by them, and at other times still, I saw myself in them. Say what you will about the  pace — this book still burns with an emotional urgency that can be appreciated by anyone who has ever been absorbed in the angst and drama of themselves or of another. Beautiful writing, too.
