Legend of the Oceina Dragon
by Cloud S. Riser
I thought this was a well-written, fast paced, original story. I liked Darien, and I thought Tai was realistic, if a little two-dimensional.
My biggest problem is that the book ended with too many loose ends. Too many things were left hanging, which was actually the same problem I had with Jenkins's other book I read, Vala: Agendas. I felt she came to the end of one story thread and just stopped. Kind of abruptly, actually.
As an editor for another publishing house and a published author myself, I would have asked her to tie up all the ends - What is going on with the Inero Dragons? What about Ashley? What's going on there? Is Tai going to ever feel part of the family? Why introduce the Alex "conflict" and never resolve it?
There are just too many open questions. I wish she'd "finished" the story.
