Blink by Malcolm Gladwell

5.0

I picked this book up on a whim, and before I knew what I was doing I had read 80 pages. I think I have been a Malcolm Gladwell fan all along and just didn't know it because I hadn't read any of his books.

This book then kept me interested enough that I read it pretty consistently, which is getting to be more and more difficult as the year gets busier and busier and the holidays approach. (I just finished it to the smells of a chocolate hazelnut tart and a pie crust baking.)

So, back to the book. It was great. I think it gets 4.5 stars and the only reason I didn't give it five is that chapter four seemed a little long. It probably wasn't. I'm sure getting that much information into a shorter chapter would have been difficult, but while I was reading it I kind of glanced ahead, wondering what would come next.

Anyway, Blink is about decision making and judgment. Now that I have read it I am analyzing the way I think and trying to be more careful with each decision, but at the same time I want to be more instinctual and think less. It is very fun to think about.

Thank you, Brian, for giving me this book for Christmas. I'm sorry it took me so long to read it.
