The Empress has landed on the edge of the Seven Realms and various players in each kingdom are angling to bring all together to meet the challenge. These influencers have been met before in earlier volumes and their stories are pieced together chronologically in this one. Re-reading would have helped the enjoyment.
Howevr, the book is much slower paced than the other Seven Realms books. With an unsatisfying quick end.
