Freedom: Memories 1954 – 2021
by Angela Merkel
informative
inspiring
medium-paced
This book is full of informations, facts and historical as well as political details, but Angela Merkel also reveals some of her characteristics and insights about her daily life, which makes her more approachable and relatable to me as a reader. Due to her quite calm and reasonable persona, I didn't expect any ground-breaking news, gossip or overly emotional confessions - she almost always describes situations in a respectful and objective way. I really enjoyed this read and as a German, I learned quite a lot of new things about German history.
