This was not at all what I had anticipated going in. I loved it for that. It was dark and eriee, confusing and alluring. I really enjoyed the ups and downs and especially the toying with the narrator. Annaleigh was such a good character to follow here. My critiques are with a few unfinished storylines with the loss of the sisters -this book has so many deaths and only some are explained, the magic/god system that was incredibly convenient, and the villian telling their entire motive and story arc before dying. Overall is was a great, fun, twisty read.
