So, the underlining story as I understand it I rather enjoyed. Two women who were friends as kids grew apart and both develop a fascination with local legend of Ilsbeth Clark, a suspected witch. Both women decide to write books about her life. One may be possessed by Ilsbeth??? One maybe a witch?? It is told with both women's perspective but at the end also has Ilsbeth's point of view?? Half the time I couldn't figure out whose perspective I was reading. 

All in all I am very confused but slightly intrigued.
